MAIN PROGRAM AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK SERVICES
PROGRAM COCOA COCONUT RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Program Objectives: To engage in research, extension, promotion,
marketing, administration, management and the control of the cocoa/coconut industries
in Papua New Guinea.
Program Description: The provision of support services to the
industry's programs, including research into all aspects of cocoa/coconut production
systems and all aspects of cocoa/coconut industries; provision of extension services
and information dissemination systems. The improvement of marketing and the
management and operation of price support stabilization arrangement for the industries.

B. Other Data in 2001 .
1) Staffing: The project consists of 2 Research
Officers and three Assistant Research Officers. 12 labourers are employed for
general duties. Two Senior Research Officers are also employed by the project
giving a total of 19 personnel on strength.
2) Other data: The project is wholly Government
funded in 2001. Funding to the project is K242,700.00 (Exp. Vote 555-3101-1-201).
3) Revenue: The project has Technical Assistance
from the Government of Australia through the Australian Centre for International
Agriculture Research (ACIAR).
