MAIN PROGRAM STANDARDS AND INDUSTRIAL ADVANCEMENT SUPPORT
PROGRAM QUALITY CONTROL & MEASUREMENT OF GOODS & SERVICES
Program Objectives: Promote and encourage the implementation of
Standardisation and assurance of quality products and services throughout PNG. Secure
overseas technical assistance to assist, establish or upgrade the technical
infrastructure of Papua New Guinea that is essential to trade, commerce, industrial
advancement and consumer protection in this country.
Program Description: The establishment of the NISIT from 1996 to
2000. The activities will include the training of NISIT staff, engagement and
procurement of experts assistance, procurement of testing and measurement standards
equipment and institutional strengthening. This program is designed to assist NISIT
develop the appropriate capabilities and capacity to enable NISIT support, commerce,
trade and industrial development of Papua New Guinea.
